Cialis and what might go wrong
When the pharmaceutical industry came up with erectile dysfunction drugs in the last decade of the past century it was a real success. Still, there were certain drawbacks concerning the use of such drugs, especially when trying to use them while there are other health problems besides erectile dysfunction. So the problem was developing such a drug for treating erectile dysfunction that would help people with additional health problems such as hypertension, diabetes and others.
The main problem that was impeding the use of such drugs for treating erectile dysfunction is that they delivered certain elements that came into reaction with active elements of other drugs that were used for addressing other problems, and such a reaction was harmful for the body. The resulting effects were sometimes even lethal for the user. So when the patient had high blood pressure and erectile dysfunction it was quite hard to address both conditions at once. The first oral medication used for treating ED in men, Viagra, is known to cause such problems, however its effectiveness was too impressive to affect the drug's success.
So there was a real need in a drug that would be free of such drawbacks. And it was not a matter of price, because erectile dysfunction medications such as Viagra were initially targeted towards financially stable people that had the spare bucks to buy costly pills for treating the problem.
However, the problem is still open since there are no such drugs that could be used without the risk of interaction with other drugs at the moment. All the drugs available for treating erectile dysfunction on the market use the same mechanism of action and are prone to the same risks. Especially when analyzing the use of drugs like Cialis or Viagra with nitrate medications that are employed for relieving high blood pressure. Mixing these drugs is forbidden because their interaction may have fatal results for the patients. This is bad news for all those people who suffer from hypertension and erectile dysfunction, especially taking the fact that men with high blood pressure are very prone to developing erectile dysfunction.
Still, when it comes to the safety and side effects, later drugs for ED such as Levitra and Cialis are regarded as much safer than their predecessor, Viagra. Of course, taking the fact that both Levitra and Cialis were introduced to the market five years after the Blue Pill, there was enough time for the developers to review the mechanism of action and improve it. However, it still matters whether you use drugs like Cialis on their own or in conjunction with other medications. In order to avoid any possible interactions you should first discuss the use of such drugs with your doctor. Tell about all the substances you are currently taking, even recreational drugs, otherwise you risk having severe side effects due to drug interaction. Just like with any other drugs you have to be very cautious about mixing any substances without your doctor's consent. Be smart, and you will avoid the risks of ED medications taking only the positive side of these drugs and relieving erectile dysfunction in a safe and effective fashion.
